Experience:-

1. Minimum 12 Years of Experience in design and development of distribution Transformer ( Dry and Liquid Filled)
2. Preferrable Min 5 Yrs of experience in onsite program Management or leading team of min 10 Engineers for R&D work at offshore.

Roles: -

Support the offshore and client R&D team in the design and development of Dry and liquid-filled distribution transformers by contributing to electrical calculations, drafting technical drawings, 3D modelling, and assisting with electrical simulations.

The engineer will collaborate closely with internal team members and external partners to ensure timely and high-quality project deliverables.

Main Responsibilities

1. Oversee the engineering design of distribution transformers, including core design, winding configurations, insulation systems, and thermal management. Ensure compliance with local and international standards.
2. Provide expert guidance to offshore engineers, and clients regarding transformer design,

improvements, and operational parameters.

1. Stay updated with advances in transformer technology, such as smart transformers and energy-efficient designs
2. Coordinate transformer R&D projects, Input Gathering, front ending customer communication,
3. Define Priority of Project with Energy
4. Creation of individual work package for each of above projects with energy for scope definition, execution approach, timeline and Milestone deliverables with acceptance criteria
5. Project team ramp-up and approval by
6. Timely project execution
7. Weekly, monthly review and approval with Energy on Milestones delivered
8. Project / Program Management
9. Governance Management
10. Design Handover to Energy and Sign off
11. Participation in internal design concept reviews.
12. Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
13. Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
14. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
15. Assist team in preparing electrical / mechanical calculations and technical documentation for transformer design projects.
16. Support 3D modelling activities for new and existing transformer designs. Review of 2D/3D drawings for transformer components. Inputs related to Simplification and adaptation of models for simulation purposes.
17. Collaborate with R&D engineers to coordinate prototype manufacturing and testing activities. Support in Design of Experiment.
18. Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and documenting progress.
19. Propose improvements and optimizations in design processes, focusing on cost savings and reduced complexity.
20. Maintain clear communication with the local team, global stakeholders, and external suppliers.

Qualifications and Skills: -

• B.E / B.Tech, M.E / M.Tech in EE / ME domain
• 12+ years of experience in power distribution transformer design, testing, or operation. Experience in transformer manufacturing is highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, including Magnetics, dielectric, Thermal and structural.
• Good knowledge Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and troubleshoot issues. .
• Good knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams. .
• Good knowledge of standard IEC and IEEE applicable for distribution Transformer.
