Research Engineer - Real-Time Imaging - #2715231

Your Mission

As a Research Engineer, you will work hands-on with our real-time medical imaging systems, with a particular focus on ultrasound and data streaming. You will contribute to the development, integration, and testing of solutions that connect our software with real imaging systems and hardware.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the actual system: writing and debugging code, testing integrations directly on hardware, and solving technical challenges where software, imaging, and real-time data come together.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and test software for real-time medical imaging and ultrasound applications.
• Work hands-on with ultrasound systems, tracking devices and other imaging hardware in our Munich office.
• Implement and troubleshoot real-time data and image streaming solutions.
• Develop and debug C++ components for system and hardware integrations.
• Test software directly on imaging systems and identify and resolve integration issues.
• Collaborate closely with our engineers and research scientists on new imaging solutions.
• Support the transfer of new methods and prototypes into robust, working software solutions.

Must-haves

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Medical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
• Strong hands-on programming skills, particularly in C++
• Experience with real-time data/streaming and/or ultrasound/medical imaging
• Comfortable testing and debugging directly on systems and hardware
• Based in or around Munich, or willing to relocate, with regular on-site presence
• Very good English skills

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with ultrasound or other medical imaging systems
• Experience with real-time image processing or hardware integration
• Python skills
• Background in applied research or R&D
• German skills
