Job Description
At Qualcomm, we are transforming the automotive industry with our Snapdragon Digital Chassis and building the next generation software defined vehicle (SDV).
Snapdragon Ride is an integral pillar of our Snapdragon Digital Chassis, and since its launch it has gained momentum with a growing number of global automakers and Tier1 suppliers. Snapdragon Ride aims to address the complexity of automated driving and ADAS by leveraging its high-performance, power-efficient SoC, industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and pioneering vision and drive policy stack to deliver a comprehensive, cost and energy efficient systems solution.
Enabling safe, comfortable, and affordable autonomous driving includes solving some of the most demanding and challenging technological problems. From centimeter-level localization to multimodal sensor perception, sensor fusion, behavior prediction, maneuver planning, and trajectory planning and control, each one of these functions introduces its own unique challenges to solve, verify, test, and deploy on the road.
We are looking for a lead engineer to help drive autonomous vehicle guidance, bridging disciplines of prediction, planning, and control to enable robust and capable closed loop operation. Candidates should have a strong theoretical background in algorithm and system design, experience with software such as C++ and Python, and a willingness and drive to push the boundaries of state-of-the-art autonomous planning and control, including advancements in AI.
This is a leadership role, where the ideal candidate has a breadth of experience leading multiple, interdisciplinary teams across algorithm development and system design, software architecture and mapping to embedded ADAS hardware. Candidates would collaborate with multiple departments and disciplines across Qualcomm to lead innovation across the industry.
In This Role, You Will
Leadership and Collaboration:
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Qualcomm expects its employees to abide by all applicable policies and procedures, including but not limited to security and other requirements regarding protection of Company confidential information and other confidential and/or proprietary information, to the extent those requirements are permissible under applicable law.
