The Deputy Lead Flight Software reports to the Lead Flight Software and plays a key role in ensuring the effective coordination and execution of Flight Software activities. The role acts as a central interface across Flight Software, other functional disciplines, Mission Operations, and ESA, while supporting the Lead Flight Software in maintaining an efficient and well-organized team environment.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as Deputy Lead Flight Software, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

What We Would Love To See From You

• Development logic & schedule — Own and coordinate the development logic and schedule of Flight Software activities and ensure consistency with the overall execution of the team and the right prioritization.
• Relationships with ESA — Manage and coordinate the relationship with ESA on Flight Software-related topics.
• Risk management — Coordinate Flight Software risk management, ensuring that risks are identified, followed up, and addressed.
• Development tools — Ensure the consistency, development, and maintenance of the development tools required by the Flight Software team.
• Checkpoints and requirements — Ensure a consistent drumbeat of checkpoints and coordinate the definition and closure of requirements with functional chain owners in other disciplines, Mission Operations, and functional chain owners within the Flight Software team.
• Hiring and working efficiency — Support hiring activities and act as a point of contact for finance, export control, and other tasks linked to the efficient operation of the Flight Software organization
  
  

In the role of Deputy Lead Flight Software, ideally, you will have the following:

• 5+ years of professional experience
• Strong structured thinking and the ability to organize and manage complex topics
• A strong “get things done” mindset
• Experience in flight software development
• The ability to work effectively across different functional teams and disciplines
• Strong coordination and communication skills
