Personio's Localisation team sits at the intersection of Design, Product, and Operations — making sure the words in our product work as hard as the pixels around them, in every language we ship. The team comprises both Content Designers and Language Specialists. As a Content Designer, your role is central to building content maturity across Personio: creating the systems, patterns, terminology frameworks, and AI-assisted tooling that let Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering make good content decisions on their own, with embedded support layered in where teams need it most so that Content Design's time goes toward the problems only a designer can solve. You'll join as we continue shifting Content Design from a request-based function into one that shapes product quality upstream, before it ever reaches translation.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

• Content Systems & Scalability: You will build and maintain reusable content patterns, standards, and self-service tools, using AI where it helps scale their impact, so Product teams can handle everyday content needs independently.
• Content Governance & UX Quality: You will set the standard for good content and information architecture, identifying where AI-generated or Product-Designer-authored work misses the mark (e.g. missing context, undefined terminology, unclear structure) and proposing or making the fix.
• Scale through AI: You will help us scale Content Design expertise through AI, continuously improving what we already have and creating new solutions.
• Localisation Partnership & Beyond: You will collaborate with our Localisation function to ensure source content sets every target language (and especially German) up for high-quality translation, keeping in mind that other departments also draw on this same content downstream.
• Targeted Embedded Support: You will provide hands-on, embedded design partnership to specific product areas wherever teams need it most, and feeding what you learn there back into the systems and patterns everyone else relies on.
• Peer Education: You will contribute to playbooks, training, and reviews that raise the content quality bar across Design, Product, and Engineering.
  
  

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

• You have 3-5 years of experience in Content Design, UX Writing, or a similar product content role, ideally within a B2B SaaS or complex digital product environment.
• You are fluent in German and English (native or C2 level in both), able to evaluate content quality in German as confidently as in English. Additional languages are a plus.
• You have strong writing craft alongside systems thinking but aren’t content with writing, you want to gain experience building guides, frameworks, and content patterns that scale beyond a single project.
• You've worked closely with product designers, PMs, and engineers, embedding content design early in the product process rather than reviewing it at the end.
• You understand how AI is changing product experiences and content design, and are confident using AI tools in your own practice as well as evaluating AI-generated language for quality and tone.
• You proactively frame problems, develop a clear point of view and make recommendations based on experiences and data
• You care about getting every language right, not just English — and you're quick to understand how source-language decisions affect translation outcomes.

At Personio, we value in-person collaboration while also offering flexibility. This role is office-based, with 2 days required in your contracted office location.
