SAP Integration Architect - #2705112

About The Role

We are looking for an SAP Integration Architect to own how Finto connects to SAP. Some of our customers run their finance operations on SAP, and no two landscapes look alike: R/3, ECC and S/4HANA, on-premise and cloud, Business One and Business ByDesign. You'll design how master data, invoices and postings move between those systems and our AI platform, and turn what starts as a bespoke integration into a product that goes live in weeks. This is a hands-on role, working directly with our CTO and the founding team: you'll set the architecture, write code, and sit across the table from customer IT. You're the first hire dedicated to SAP at Finto and you define what the practice becomes. We're headquartered in Munich, with roots in San Francisco through Y Combinator.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end architecture from a customer's SAP system into Finto: master data, invoices, postings, write-back.
• Choose the integration path per SAP flavour - OData, IDoc, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI, file-based - and make that choice repeatable instead of re-deciding it per customer.
• Build the connector platform: templates, validation, monitoring, and the tooling that makes every new landscape faster than the last.
• Translate FI and MM process knowledge into specifications and field mappings our engineers build against.
• Ship production code with the engineering team - same repo, same reviews, Node.js and TypeScript.
• Be the SAP authority in the room: with customer IT, with their integration partners, and in our own technical conversations with prospects.
• Set the standard for how Finto goes live on SAP, and move more of it into the product with every rollout.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP integration work in real customer landscapes across R/3, ECC and S/4HANA, ideally more than one generation of them.
• Deep knowledge of the accounts payable process in SAP: FI, MM, the document flow around incoming invoices, tax determination, and why the field a customer means is rarely the field the label says.
• Fluency across SAP's integration surface - OData, IDocs, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI - and a clear position on clean core.
• Strong coding skills, ideally in TypeScript/Node.js. You architect and you build; specifications alone aren't the job.
• A product instinct: you'd rather build a pattern once than map the same fields twice.
• Confidence in front of enterprise IT teams, and the directness to tell them when an export won't work.
• Fluent German and English.
• Bonus points for ABAP, for time on the consulting side of SAP rollouts, or for anything you've built that made your own job smaller.
