Role Requirements
The role sits close to the embedded world and is focused on owning the operating system foundation and platform layer of IoT devices. The engineer will build and evolve a next-generation embedded Linux image, work on the Python application layer on top of it, and operate across the boundary between hardware, OS, and product features.
The work spans Yocto-based Linux distribution development for ARM devices, system integration, device reliability, and debugging complex issues across kernel, drivers, networking, memory management, and application software. Success means taking end-to-end ownership, improving the platform proactively, and helping shape engineering best practices.

- several years of embedded Linux experience (Must-have)
- Yocto-based Linux image building and maintenance (Must-have)
- Linux internals (Must-have)
- GNU tools and Bash (Must-have)
- systems programming in C, C++, Rust, Go, or Java (Must-have)
- Python application development (Must-have)
- debugging tools such as GDB, tcpdump, Valgrind, UART, and JTAG (Must-have)
- Linux bootloaders, systemd, drivers, kernel concepts, networking, and Docker (Must-have)
- end-to-end ownership (Must-have)
- proactive improvement mindset (Must-have)
- experience with embedded systems or hardware-adjacent development (Must-have)
- senior-level profile (Must-have)
- experience with large-scale IoT fleets (Nice-to-have)
- MQTT and Protocol Buffers (Nice-to-have)
- computer vision, edge AI, or machine learning (Nice-to-have)
