This Germany Public Sector team drives adoption of the AWS cloud and AI services worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and grow. Would you like to be part of the Germany Public Sector team focused on helping Government service the community? Do you have the business acumen and relationship-building skills necessary to motivate a cross-functional team, including sales, solutions architecture, partners, and professional services, to deliver business growth for AWS and our customers?
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to manage a territory of Government-linked companies (Local Government, Transportation, Utilities and/or Public Sector ISVs) in Germany. The Account Manager should be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a coverage plan and consistently deliver on customer outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess both a strong sales and technical background, with deep knowledge of cloud and AI, enabling them to drive engagement at the CXO level as well as with software developers and IT architects. The Account Manager will be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and has very strong communication and presentation skills.
This position is based in Germany and we support relocation where required.

Key job responsibilities
- Drive adoption to meet or exceed targets
- Develop and execute against a strategic plan that leads to the creation and maintenance of a robust pipeline of value based opportunities
- Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS cloud and AI services
- Analyze metrics data from your accounts to help evolve your strategy
- Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement
- Work with partners, marketing, business development and other teams to manage joint engagement opportunities
- Assist customer in identifying use cases for priority adoption of AWS as well as best practices implementations
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts
- Present regular and accurate reports for management for review

Basic Qualifications
- Experience consistently closing sales and generating revenues
- Experience creating and implementing long-term transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role or equivalent
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- 5+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
- Knowledge of key technology and market trends
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS, or experience with project management
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of public sector business, public sector policy, government relations, or related fields experience
