We're working with a highly innovative company building the next-generation backend for Germany's largest reusable-packaging network, a circular-economy deposit-return system expanding internationally. They are dedicated to creating a sustainable and circular ecosystem for a world without single-use packaging.

The Role

• Design, build, and own core platform services for partner management, point-of-sale, billing, returns, fulfillment, and contract management
• Build event-driven, async-heavy integrations between services and external systems
• Help drive international expansion efforts
• Partner with the technical lead on architectural decisions, data modelling, and incremental platform modernization
• Set high engineering standards for testing, observability, and operational readiness from the outset
  
  

What You'll Need

• 7-10 years of backend engineering experience, with deep production expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
• Ability to work with legacy PHP (PP2) codebases
• Strong system design and execution skills for distributed, async/queue-heavy systems
• Solid relational data modelling and SQL experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL preferred)
• Comfort owning problems end-to-end: design, build, test, ship, and operate
• Experience shipping production code with AI coding agents and an informed workflow for their use
