We are looking for an experienced and people-centric People & Culture Manager to join our growing People & Culture team at Qwello. In this role, you will own our Learning & Development function, drive performance and employee experience initiatives, and serve as a trusted generalist who keeps people operations running seamlessly. You thrive building things from scratch and love rolling up your sleeves to support the team wherever it's needed.

- Build and lead our L&D function from the ground up: designing frameworks, programmes, and learning plans tailored to a fast-growing, international team.
- Design and roll out a company-wide career leveling framework, defining clear job levels, progression criteria, and career paths across all functions.
- Build and maintain our compensation framework, esuring its competitive, transparent, and internally equitable, using market benchmarking data.
- Design, implement, and own our performance review and continuous feedback cycles end-to-end.
- Drive a positive, and inclusive employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Support planning memorable company events including our annual retreat, team offsites, and other culture-building activities that bring our team together.
- Serve as our internal expert on German labour law.
- Ensure all HR processes, policies, and employment practices are fully compliant with current German legislation.
- Proactively monitor legal developments and update internal guidelines and templates accordingly.
- Collaborate with the broader People & Culture team on day-to-day topics including employee development, HR process improvements and recruitment activities
- At least 5 years of experience as an HR generalist or HR Business Partner, with demonstrable strength in L&D, employee experience, and German labour law.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of German labour law, you can advise confidently on complex employment matters without always needing external counsel.
- Proven track record designing and delivering employee experience programs across the full employee lifecycle.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to measuring learning impact and continuous improvement.
- Emotionally intelligent, with the confidence to work with different stakeholders and a creative approach to bringing people together.
- Ability to self-organise in an environment of changing priorities; willingness to work on multiple tasks/content switching.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit People & Culture team.
- Fluency in both English and German is a must
