AI Automation Engineer – Legal Technology

About the Role

A leading international law firm is expanding its Legal Technology and Innovation capabilities in Germany and is looking for an AI Automation Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, automation, and legal services, helping to shape how technology is used across a global organisation.

The successful candidate will design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions that improve efficiency, automate processes, and enhance the way legal teams work.

You will collaborate closely with lawyers, business stakeholders, innovation teams, and technology specialists to identify opportunities where AI can deliver real business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-driven solutions to support legal and business workflows
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency
• Build, test, and deploy AI-powered applications and automation solutions
• Work with Large Language Models (LLMs) and emerging AI technologies
• Develop AI workflows that improve productivity across legal teams
• Partner with lawyers and business teams to understand challenges and translate them into technical solutions
• Support the adoption of AI tools across the organisation
• Evaluate new AI technologies and assess how they can be applied in a professional services environment
• Ensure AI solutions are developed with security, governance, and responsible AI principles in mind
• Contribute to the wider Legal Technology and Innovation strategy

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience working as an AI Engineer, Automation Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI automation
• Experience building AI-powered solutions in a professional or enterprise environment
• Knowledge of AI frameworks, APIs, and automation platforms
• Experience working with Python and modern development practices
• Understanding of prompt engineering, AI agents, or workflow automation
• Ability to integrate AI solutions with existing business applications and platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within LegalTech, FinTech, professional services, or another regulated industry
• Experience with Microsoft AI technologies, Azure, Copilot, or enterprise AI platforms
• Knowledge of data privacy, AI governance, and security considerations
• Experience working with lawyers or business stakeholders to deliver technology adoption
