Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer (Autodesk Inventor) | Munich | 6-Month Contract | ASAP Start

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Autodesk Inventor skills and a background in special purpose machinery (Sondermaschinenbau)?

We're supporting an engineering client in Munich who requires an experienced freelancer to join an ongoing project and contribute immediately to the design and optimisation of complex mechanical assemblies.

Your Responsibilities

Design and modify mechanical assemblies and machine components using Autodesk Inventor

Create production-ready 3D CAD models, technical drawings and BOMs

Develop welded structures and sheet metal components

Produce technical documentation to support manufacturing and assembly

Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimise existing machine designs

Participate in onsite technical meetings, design reviews and engineering discussions

Your Profile

Several years of experience in mechanical design engineering

Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor

Background in special purpose machinery, machine engineering or industrial equipment

Experience creating manufacturing-ready CAD designs and technical drawings

Knowledge of assemblies, welded structures and sheet metal design

Ability to integrate quickly into active engineering projects

Fluent German and English

Contract Details

Location: Munich (predominantly onsite)

Duration: 6 months with strong possibility of extension

Contract: Freelance

40 hours per week

Start: ASAP

Rate: Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
