THE COMPANY
As Mermec Deutschland GmbH, the German subsidiary of Compagnie des Signaux in France, part of the MERMEC Group, which operates worldwide, MERMEC Deutschland works closely with international teams and contributes to cross-border railway signaling and digitalization projects, particularly within the DACH region.
What we are looking for
As a Senior Project Engineer Testing & Commissioning, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing testing and commissioning activities for railway systems across implementation, integration and handover phases. In this senior role, you will help ensure that systems are tested, validated and commissioned in accordance with technical, safety and customer requirements, supporting a smooth transition into operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage testing and commissioning activities within railway infrastructure projects
- Take responsibility for testing- and commissioning-related work packages across implementation, integration and commissioning phases
- Plan, prepare and monitor testing and commissioning activities in line with project requirements and delivery milestones
- Act as a key technical interface between project management, engineering teams, customers, suppliers, subcontractors and external project partners
- Review of technical documentation, test procedures, specifications and related project deliverables
- Ensure that testing and commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with applicable standards, regulations and customer requirements
- Identify project risks, support troubleshooting activities and define appropriate mitigation measures
- Coordinate technical discussions, interface activities and project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Support installation, system integration, site testing, commissioning and acceptance activities where required
- Contribute to reporting, documentation, change management and handover activities throughout the project lifecycle
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Automation or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in testing and commissioning, system engineering, railway infrastructure projects or a comparable technical environment
- Good understanding of project delivery processes in complex engineering environments
- Experience working with standards, regulations and regulatory requirements
- Experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting or system integration is an advantage
- Professional working proficiency in German and English
- You are characterized by a structured way of working, a strong sense of responsibility and excellent coordination and communication skills
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs
