About Panura: Panura is a newly founded startup building a sovereign LEO mega-constellation for secure global connectivity. Based in Munich’s aerospace hub, we are currently forming our core engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to join as one of the first few hires and help build both the company and its technology from the ground up.

The Role: As Satellite Systems Architect, you will define and own the satellite platform architecture and the overall constellation system design. You will work closely with RF and Antenna engineers to develop our first MVP satellites. This is a practical, build-focused role where you will be involved from initial concept through to hardware assembly and testing.

Location: Munich, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Architecture: Define the satellite platform architecture and constellation-level system design from the ground up.
• Hardware Ownership: Lead the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of our first prototype satellites in the lab.
• Collaborative Build: Collaborate closely with RF and Antenna engineers to ensure seamless payload integration.
• Mission Optimization: Define mission requirements and perform trade-off analyses on orbits, coverage, and system performance.
• Establish Standards: Create the technical documentation and engineering processes that will serve as the technical foundation for the company.

What You Bring

• PhD or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in satellite systems engineering or architecture, with a proven track record of moving from design to physical hardware.
• Experience in a lab or cleanroom environment, including satellite assembly, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Strong systems engineering knowledge regarding the interaction between satellite platforms and communication payloads.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset suited to a small, fast-moving engineering team.
• Willingness to relocate to Munich and possession of a valid visa and work permit to work in Germany.

Nice to Have

• Deep knowledge of satellite subsystems (ADCS, power, thermal, propulsion) and trade-offs between performance, mass, and cost.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo, Capella).
• Previous experience in a startup or agile hardware environment, ideally with LEO satellite systems or mega-constellations.
• Strong skills in Python or MATLAB for simulation, data analysis, or automation.
