Macgregor Black are partnering with a well-established toy brand on the search for a Key Account Manager. This is a remote role based in Germany.
As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing strategic retail partnerships across Germany, driving sales growth, and maximising brand visibility within key accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the toy industry, a proven track record of managing major retail accounts, and a deep understanding of the German retail landscape. Experience working with retailers such as Smyths Toys and/or Müller is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with assigned key retail accounts across Germany.
- Develop and execute annual business plans, sales strategies, and joint commercial initiatives.
- Lead customer negotiations, including pricing, promotions, assortment planning, and annual agreements.
- Identify opportunities to increase distribution, market share, and revenue across existing and new product categories.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams to deliver successful account plans.
- Monitor sales performance, forecasts, inventory levels, and promotional effectiveness.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver regular business reviews, sales reports, and customer presentations.
- Ensure excellent execution of product launches and seasonal programs.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade fairs, and industry events.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Key Account Management, National Account Management, or Sales role within the toy industry.
- Demonstrated success managing major retail accounts and delivering sales growth.
- Strong understanding of the German retail environment and consumer goods market.
- Experience with annual negotiations, forecasting, and commercial planning.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel within Germany as required.
