Robotics Software Architect (m/f/d)

Most robots today still operate in controlled environments.
We're building robots that don't.
We're looking for a Robotics Software Architect to help define the software foundation behind autonomous robotic systems operating in complex, real-world environments. This isn't a role for someone who wants to spend their days maintaining legacy code or sitting in architecture review meetings. You'll be shaping how robots perceive, decide, communicate, and act.
You'll work alongside robotics, AI, perception, navigation, and systems engineers to create scalable architectures that move from simulation to deployment and from prototype to production.
What you'll own
- Define the software architecture for next-generation robotic platforms
- Design scalable ROS 2-based systems and interfaces across multiple subsystems
- Drive decisions around autonomy, perception, localization, navigation, and edge computing
- Create robust frameworks that enable rapid development without sacrificing reliability
- Work closely with engineering leadership to translate ambitious product goals into technical reality
- Mentor senior engineers and help establish engineering best practices across the robotics organization
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience building complex robotics or autonomous systems
- Deep understanding of distributed software architectures
- Strong background in C++, ROS 2, and modern software engineering practices
- Experience with perception, sensor fusion, navigation, or robotic control systems
- Ability to balance long-term architecture with fast-paced product development
- A builder's mindset and a passion for solving hard problems
Bonus points
- Autonomous vehicles, drones, mobile robotics, humanoids, or defense robotics experience
- Experience with simulation environments and digital twins
- Exposure to AI-driven robotic systems and robot learning
