Forward Deployed Agentic AI Engineer | Private Equity AI Build-Out

AI Futures are partnered with a well-established, mid-market private equity firm headquartered in Munich, with a portfolio spanning Energy Infrastructure, B2B software, and business services across the DACH region. With a strong track record of value creation through operational improvement and digital transformation, the firm is now building a dedicated AI capability and an 'AI-First' Strategy.

The Role:

• Act as the primary AI engineering contact for portfolio company stakeholders; operating as a trusted technical partner embedded within PortCo teams on a rotational or project basis.
• Identify, scope, and prioritise AI use cases across portfolio companies in close collaboration with PortCo management, the deal team, and the firm's operating partners.
• Design and build production-grade agentic AI systems and LLM-powered workflows
• Integrate AI solutions into existing PortCo tech stacks and business processes, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable implementations.
• Translate complex AI capabilities into clear business value narratives for non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite and board-level audiences.
• Build internal tooling and reusable AI components that can be replicated across the portfolio, creating compounding value at the platform level.
• Stay at the forefront of developments in foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, and multi-agent architectures.
• Contribute to the firm's AI strategy, helping define standards, best practices, and a scalable operating model for AI deployment across investments.

The Candidate:

• Hands-on proficiency in Python and experience building LLM-powered applications end-to-end, from prompt engineering to production deployment.
• Deep familiarity with agentic frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar) and multi-agent orchestration patterns.
• Strong working knowledge of RAG architectures, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma), and knowledge graph integrations.
• Experience deploying and fine-tuning models via APIs
• Demonstrated ability to engage directly with senior business stakeholders
• Experience in a consulting, forward-deployed engineering, or client-facing technical role ideally within PE, management consulting, or an enterprise software environment.
