As our Senior International Retail Sales Lead based in our HQ in Munich or our office in Amsterdam, you’ll lead the development and scaling of yfood’s retail presence across a dynamic portfolio of high-potential European markets — from countries with existing footprint to those just getting started. You’ll shape the sales agenda, manage key distributor and retail relationships, and deliver strong commercial results — working hands-on to expand our footprint with smart, locally tailored strategies. You will be working cross-functionally with our marketing and operations teams to ensure brand consistency, strong commercial performance, and seamless execution across borders.

This is a role for someone who thrives on both structure and hustle, opening up opportunities in newer markets and strengthening our presence in those already gaining traction.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth by scaling existing and building new international markets – country scope depending on your experience
  • Own the commercial agenda in each market — including assortment, placement, pricing, trade terms, promotional planning, and distribution setup — to build market momentum
  • Build and manage a network of distributors, retail partners, and sales agencies, ensuring executional excellence and brand consistency
  • Lead commercial negotiations and set pricing structures, trade terms, and promotional plans in line with company goals
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure smooth international logistics, inventory planning, and order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to tailor market activation plans based on local dynamics and market maturity while maintaining global consistency.
  • Track performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activity to steer continuous improvement
  • Reporting & forecasting: Provide regular performance updates, sales forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

What You Need To Succeed

We’re looking for a hands-on, sales-driven commercial leader with the energy to build and the focus to deliver results. You combine structured thinking with entrepreneurial hustle, and you know what it takes to win in retail across multiple countries.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You

  • Bring 6–8 years of international retail sales experience in FMCG, with a strong background in retail and distributor/partner management (ideally bringing in your own network of external partners)
  • Have a track record of growing retail sales in European markets — ideally across both Western and Eastern Europe
  • Have experience with retail P&L ownership and a strong understanding of distributor models, route-to-market strategies, and trade marketing
  • Are a strong negotiator and relationship-builder, comfortable leading commercial discussions with senior stakeholders
  • Understand how to build and adapt sales strategies to diverse market realities, and how to lead through partners
  • Are willing to travel internationally for occasional market/partner meetings
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth teams — and bring a strong sense of ownership and ambition
