Description

Amazon is looking for a Sr. HR Partner (HRP) to support the Amazon Advertising business. This role will be a member of the dynamic Advertising, IMdB, and Grand Challenge (AIGC) People eXperience and Technology (PXT) team. This team provides both strategic and hands on HR support to the business and is instrumental in restructuring HR functions, processes, and systems to deliver efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency by enhancing manager capabilities while maintaining employee experience.

This role will focus primarily on supporting managers and teams in Germany, with a strong emphasis on Works Council partnership. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders and partner teams to develop and implement HR strategies from talent and performance management, compensation, employee relations and other HR functions. To thrive, you will need a flexible skill set, including the ability to adapt to various situations utilizing HR expertise, consulting skills, as well as the ability to connect to the bigger picture while diving deep into the details and collaborate across many teams, levels, and regions.

Key job responsibilities

This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities focused on delivering consistent HR support, including but not limited to:

  • Partner Works Council members on key initiatives
  • Handle complex and sensitive employee issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Guide performance improvement processes in accordance with established procedures
  • Support leaders through Talent Management and Annual Compensation planning processes
  • Provide strategic guidance on change management initiatives to HR Business Partners and Business Leaders
  • Partner on policy implementation and compliance at country level
  • Participate in and lead projects aligned with team goals and strategy
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders, including HR Business Partners and centers of excellence
  • Support consistent HR practices

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • HR experience and experience in labour relations, and/or Work Council management in Germany
  • In-depth knowledge of German labor law (Betriebsverfassungsgesetz, Arbeitsrecht)
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English (Common European Framework of Reference C2)
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • HR certification
  • Deep understanding of German work culture, ethics, and labor practices
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and mediation skills
  • Experience in managing employee relations in a unionized environment
  • Proven ability to build trust-based relationships with partners and senior leadership
  • Experience navigating complex matrix organizations
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to use data to drive decisions
  • Previous experience with organizational change management
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and align various stakeholder interests
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in multinational organizations with diverse employee populations
  • Experience in e-commerce, logistics, or technology sectors
  • Advanced negotiation skills, particularly in collective bargaining
  • Additional language skills
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
