Your mission

As Finance & Controlling Manager at Matchory, you will have full ownership of all finance-related topics and will help us to scale sustainably and strategically. You will work closely with the management team, take responsibility for our financial planning and reporting, and identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and secure external funding.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

Controlling & Financial Planning

• Own and continuously improve our financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
• Develop clear and insightful dashboards and financial models for internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor KPIs and performance metrics; derive actionable insights and recommendations
• Prepare investor reports and support strategic planning
  
  

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage communication and coordination with our external tax advisors and accountants
• Ensure clean and timely month-end closings and compliance with accounting standards
• Oversee invoice processing, accounts payable and receivable
  
  

Funding & Grants

• Proactively identify public funding and grant opportunities relevant to Matchory (e.g. R&D grants, innovation support)
• Lead the application process for grants and subsidies from start to finish (research, documentation, submission, follow-up)
• Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies and relevant stakeholders
  
  

Process Optimization

• Analyze and improve existing finance and reporting workflows
• Implement tools and automations to increase efficiency and data transparency
• Ensure scalability and robustness of finance processes as Matchory grows
  
  

Your profile

• 3–5 years of experience in Finance, Controlling or Accounting, ideally in a fast-paced, digital environment
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to translate data into strategy
• Familiarity with startup funding mechanisms, public grant programs, and budgeting cycles
• Fluency in English and German, at least level B2
• Structured, independent and reliable way of working with a hands-on mindset
