Your mission
We are seeking a highly skilled Network, IoT and Cloud Software Engineer to develop next-generation Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) – Terrestrial Network (TN) edge devices with AI-driven predictive network switching and software-defined networking (SDN) architectures.
This role focuses on hands-on development, designing, optimizing, troubleshooting and debugging intelligent telematics solutions enabling seamless connectivity across satellite, cellular, and other terrestrial networks for land mobility applications.
The ideal candidate will report directly to the CTO, matrixed across the technical and commercial teams exercising fluency with network protocols and edge computing frameworks complemented by developing AI-driven predictive switching and routing algorithms supporting UNIO’s technical execution of exceptional customer experiences.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network, IoT and Cloud Software Engineer to develop next-generation Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) – Terrestrial Network (TN) edge devices with AI-driven predictive network switching and software-defined networking (SDN) architectures.
This role focuses on hands-on development, designing, optimizing, troubleshooting and debugging intelligent telematics solutions enabling seamless connectivity across satellite, cellular, and other terrestrial networks for land mobility applications.
The ideal candidate will report directly to the CTO, matrixed across the technical and commercial teams exercising fluency with network protocols and edge computing frameworks complemented by developing AI-driven predictive switching and routing algorithms supporting UNIO’s technical execution of exceptional customer experiences.
You Will
- Be proficient in Python, C++ and Java programming languages.
- Be fluent with network protocols, infrastructure, and security concepts.
- Be comfortable with diverse operating systems including Linux, OpenWRT, ROS, Windows with expertise across MQTT, MPTCP and diverse other protocols.
- Be familiar with the operations, management, provisioning, deployment constraints and interdependencies across terrestrial cellular modem products.
- Be proficient with security expertise, including knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Have had extensive experience with database management including experience with database management systems and their integration with network/IoT software.
- Have a demonstrable passion for hands-on electro-mechanical assembly, integration and test activities and projects.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication Systems or related fields
- 5+ years’ experience in telematics, networking and/or mobile edge computing within the aerospace, automotive or robotics ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with network protocols, routing algorithms and edge computing frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, C++ and other embedded software languages
- Experience with IoT/embedded systems, edge AI, MPTCP, MQTT and cloud-based telematics solutions
- Demonstrable experience in project planning, Agile/Scrum methodologies and workflows, reporting, product development and execution processes and stakeholder relationship management
- Knowledge with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Outline, GitHub, Microsoft Suite
- Knowledge of underlying technology stack, APIs, and end-to-end architectural components
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrable success collaborating with diverse stakeholders ensuring product alignment
- Solid ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
- Currently based in Munich (or soon to be relocating to)
