About FRYTE

FRYTE is a Munich-based Tech startup, bridging the gap between emerging electric logistics and energy markets. Our SaaS solution empowers dispatchers to plan and optimize charging stops for electric trucks — and supports drivers in real-time to adapt to the realities on the road.

By aligning the needs of fleet operators and energy providers, we reduce charging costs for logistics companies and increase utilization for charge point operators. Our vision is to replace big oil with sustainable transportation. With intelligent software, we bring e-trucks on the road – faster, smarter, and more efficiently.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Junior Backend Developer, you'll be part of the team that builds the core engine of our platform. You’ll work closely with our lead architect and experienced developers to design, implement, and improve APIs, data pipelines, and backend logic. This is a great opportunity to learn quickly in a real-world setting, with mentorship and responsibility from day one.

Your tasks will include:

  • Building and maintaining APIs

  • Writing clean and efficient Python code for scalable backend systems

  • Working with databases to handle spatial and logistics data

  • Supporting asynchronous processing with Celery and Redis

  • Collaborating with frontend developers and product managers to ship features

  • Learning and contributing to architecture discussions as we scale

Qualifikation

Must-Haves

  • Solid understanding of Python fundamentals and backend concepts

  • First practical experience (through internships, projects, or coursework) in backend development

  • Willingness to learn fast, ask questions, and take ownership

  • Team-oriented mindset and good communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks

  • Exposure to Celery, Redis, or asynchronous task queues

  • Basic understanding of geospatial data (e.g., PostGIS, geo-coordinates)

  • Familiarity with Docker or container-based development

  • Interest in logistics, transportation, or energy systems

Our stack

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript

  • Backend: FastAPI, Celery, Redis, Postgres, PostGIS (Python)

  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes (planned), AWS, and OpenStack

  • DevOps: GitHub Actions

Not your stack? We value drive, ability to learn fast and general understanding of software development over specific tool knowledge.
