Support in the development of Dashboards and on Generative AI (GenAI) solutions for data analyses

Description: We at the Environmental Protection Data Analytics team are seeking a motivated and skilled student to work on creation of Power BI dashboards and support on GenAI solutions for environmental protection use cases. The key responsibilities and tasks for this position include:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Dashboard creation: Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements. Focus on user experience and story-telling design of the dashboard.
  • Create and maintain efficient data models and relationships to optimize report performance and create DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis.
  • Expertise in creating effective prompts, structuring data, and proficiency in Python and/or C++.

Good-to-Have:

  • Assist in bot development, enhance user experience, improve conversation flows and identify issues for reviews.
  • Knowledge or experience with Azure and/or AWS is a plus.

Requirements: Students who are currently enrolled in their master’s studies with a background in Computer Science with a minimum of one year remaining to engage as a working student. Experience with Information Engineering / data science topics is a plus.

Technical Skills related to the tasks:

  • Power BI: proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query. SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation. Familiarity with integrating Power BI with other platforms and APIs.
  • Bot integration and API skills: Understanding bot interfaces (backend/ frontend), API integration and testing. Strong experience with Pandas and NumPy and familiarity with NLP libraries like spaCy or NLTK.

Soft Skills:

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think critically, identify issues or challenges, and propose creative solutions. Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques as needed for the project.
  • Self-motivated and proactive: The student should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and take initiative in completing assigned tasks. Proactiveness in identifying and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise is essential.
  • Strong communication skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are important for collaborating with the team and conveying information accurately. The student should be able to articulate ideas, ask questions, and provide updates on progress.
  • Time management: The ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines is crucial. The student should be able to prioritize tasks, organize workload effectively, and deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
