Job Purpose/Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated quantitative P&C Risk Manager to join our team at Allianz Direct Versicherungs-AG. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the role involves Capital & Risk Modelling and supporting management in the task of early identification, recognition, initiation of control measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the Closing Activities: Support in Allianz Direct's Solvency II Risk Capital calculation and reporting process, including insightful analysis and clear presentation of results to key stakeholders (e.g. BoM & Group)
• Contribute to Internal Model Development: Participate in the development, analysis, and maintenance of the internal model within Allianz Group, supporting its application and ongoing refinement
• Lead Strategic Risk Analysis: Conduct impactful ad-hoc risk analysis for M&A activities, providing thorough due diligence and integration assessments that shape strategic decisions
• Represent Risk Management: Serve as a representative for Allianz Direct in relevant committees, meetings, and risk assessment workshops, providing risk analysis and offering constructive feedback and ideas
• Bridge Quantitative Expertise: Collaborate across Allianz Direct's finance function, subsidiary risk functions, AZ Group, regulators, and auditors, bringing quantitative risk topics to life and fostering a culture of informed decision-making
• Challenge and Transform: Proactively identify opportunities to innovate, challenge the status quo, and drive transformative change within the risk management landscape.
  
  

Qualifications/Key Skills

• Extensive Industry Experience: Possess over 5 years of substantial work experience in insurance, reinsurance, or consultancy, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry practices and challenges
• Advanced Academic Credentials: Hold an actuarial degree and/or a master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field, showcasing a strong foundation in quantitative discipline
• Expertise in Solvency II and Risk Management: Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of Solvency II or possess significant experience in quantitative risk management, risk controlling, risk reporting, risk analytics, capital modeling, or actuarial work, preferably within the insurance sector or a Solvency II Internal Model entity
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics and Microsoft Office applications
• Independent and Collaborative Work Ethic: Self-driven and capable of working independently while effectively contributing to an international cross-functional team environment.
• Dynamic and Innovative Mindset: Embody an entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach to embracing change and driving innovation
• Language Skills: Fluent in both German and English, with additional language skills considered an asset, enhancing communication across diverse teams
• Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and report writing abilities, enabling clear and impactful presentation of complex information
