Job Summary

The Rare Disease Specialist will compliantly market BioCryst products to our customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Have “game changing” conversations with our customers, compliantly utilizing effective selling techniques and marketing strategies to create and expand demand for any/all promoted brand(s) for which they are responsible.
  • Utilize Sales Force Excellence to develop key customers and key accounts.
  • Create, maintain and update an active customer database.
  • Have a mastery of key account management incl. key account analysis and planning.
  • Develop exceptional business plans with resource allocations that link to strong business results.
  • Be extremely customer-focused, empathic and able to build and foster strong positive relationships with key decision makers and opinion leaders.
  • Develop strategies to effectively differentiate BioCryst products, utilizing sales materials and marketing programs.
  • Conduct essential field activities including, but not limited to, sales calls, lunch and learns, customer in-services, and other compliant customer interactive activities.
  • Focus on the end results of the sales process, demonstrating personal accountability, a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving business objectives.
  • Complete expense reports and other required administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Report all call information in a timely fashion.
  • Attend training programs, conventions, team meetings and symposia, as requested.
  • Exemplify strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively use resources and share best practices that lead to achieving or exceeding business goals.
  • Adhere to all legal and company compliance guidelines, policy, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech selling experience.
  • Specialized and/ or Rare Disease experience preferred.
  • Experience and proven success in a competitive market setting.
  • Start-up commercial experience a plus.
  • Ability to self-manage requirements covering a large territory.
  • Strong track record of successfully exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, in particular with in-field medical colleagues and marketing.
  • Proven ability to formulate and implement effective KAM and selling skills and results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills (incl. territory analysis)
  • Proven ability to create and innovate, build, and expand business and work both independently as well as in teams.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of territory.
  • Languages: Germany and Business English
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel as necessary or required, which includes overnight and/or weekend travel (approx. 30%).
