Navigance supports chemical production processes with advanced data analytics and the latest AI-based tools in an easy to use web-based interface, so that our customers reach optimal performance of their plants and improve sustainability. We do this by guiding operators, partnering with plant engineers and supporting production managers to reach their goals. We use a unique combination of data modeling know-how, machine learning and catalytic process expertise to build and deliver customer-specific process models in a cloud-based platform. Our team consists of process engineers, data scientists, software developers and market experts.
Navigance, a young corporate start-up within Clariant, is seeking a Working Student (m/f/d) for our Munich office. Here, you will be working together with the data science team to extend our cloud-based platform for industrial IoT data from our customers' production plants. You will contribute at various parts of the project from data integration to data analysis and modelling.
Responsibilities
- Automize. Write scripts to automatically parse and integrate customer data to our platform; the results will be directly visible to our customers.
- Standardize. Scan through customer files comprising thousands of years of data for many different chemical applications, and prepare the data for further usage.
- Analyze. Draw insights from the data, by performing statistical analysis and data driven modelling.
- Innovate. Contribute to innovation together with the data science team, and across software development, product & sales teams.
- Collaborate. Work closely with other process experts and data scientists to give advice for specific topics in our customers’ plants.
- You enjoy working with big amounts of data in order to derive insights and generate value for Navigance and our customers.
- You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to computer science, chemical engineering, chemistry or physics.
- You have at least one year left before receiving your Master’s degree, and have capacity to work 15 hours or more per week.
- You have very good programming experience with Python. Ideally, you have also worked with data science libraries such as pandas, TensorFlow, scikit-learn etc..
- You are a self-starter and can work independently with a team mindset.
- You are proficient in English (spoken and written).
- You are an open-minded and communicative personality.
