Software Integration Engineer - Python (f/m/d)
You write the code that runs the first generation of smart industrial MRI systems. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you build and maintain software that holds together our hardware components, cloud infrastructure, AI algorithms and MRI technology. You maximize code quality and system reliability in a minimum time. With your drive for impact and problem-solving skills, you pave the way for scalable and robust AI-powered imaging.
This role allows you to unlock the potential of MRI technology, transforming it from traditional clinical settings into fully automated industrial applications.

Software Integration Engineer - Python (f/m/d)
- Starting date: As soon as possible
- Yearly Salary: €60,000 - €65,000 (fixed range, annual gross)
- Equity: €10,000 - €30,000 in company shares
- Benefits: Up to €5,000 annually
- Work model: Full-time, Hybrid (Munich)
You write the code that runs the first generation of smart industrial MRI systems. You maximize code quality and system reliability in a minimum time. With your drive for impact and problem-solving skills, you pave the way for scalable and robust AI-powered imaging.
This role allows you to unlock the potential of MRI technology, transforming it from traditional clinical settings into fully automated industrial applications.
Your day to day
- Developing and optimizing software for edge devices, integrating seamlessly with MRI and automation hardware.
- Integrate complex systems in the lab, making sure MRI systems, AI models, and industrial automation systems work together in a coherent and reliable way.
- Collaborate with team members to identify the most efficient solutions to our software challenges
- Maintaining and optimizing Python code, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Create the software that allows us to communicate with our different software and hardware components
- Build automated testing that allows us to increase our delivery speed reliably
- Analyze the operation of our software in production to ensure it works as intended
- Identify and resolve bugs in our codebase

- Proficient in Python backend development.
- Experienced with version control, Linux scripting, RESTful APIs, containerization, and orchestration tools.
- Passionate about software design patterns for robust architecture.
- Experience in deploying and maintaining software in production environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in code collaboration and eagerness to innovate.
- Ability to work self-driven on feature requests and problem statements.
- Promoting knowledge sharing and social coding to enhance code quality and support continuous learning.
- Encouraging experimentation and learning from failures within a blameless culture, emphasizing process and tool improvement.
- We maintain a healthy codebase through test-driven development, focusing on robust test suites and simplicity in design.
- Using rapid feedback from production to drive our iterative development process.
- Advocating for a deep understanding of our business, system thinking, and domain-driven design to deliver value aligned with Orbem’s mission.
- Ability to work with significant autonomy, owning projects without extensive supervision and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers and software developers.
- Passionate about software design patterns, and robust and maintainable software.
- Experience understanding and diving deep into complex set ups with multiple subsystems and interdependencies.
- Experience working with MRI systems and medical imaging technologies.
- Interest or experience in the latest IoT technologies and industrial automation solutions.
