We’re now looking for a Director of Technology and Platforms - a bold and visionary leader to guide this next chapter and make IONITY Europe’s most intelligent EV charging platform. This is more than a leadership role - it’s an opportunity to help shape the future of electric mobility across Europe.

As Director of Technology & Digital Platforms, you will be the driving force behind IONITY’s transformation into a tech-first company. You will define and execute a modern technology roadmap that moves us beyond infrastructure and into an intelligent ecosystem of energy digital services, and customer-centric innovation. You will lead our technology function and serve as a key member of the executive team, working cross-functionally to align engineering, product, energy strategy, and digital experience into a cohesive and scalable tech platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Technology Leadership
  • Define and deliver IONITY’s end-to-end technology strategy in alignment with our business goals and industry developments
  • Drive the shift from a CPO to a smart EV charging platform that includes AI, software services, API integrations, and energy management systems.
  • Build and champion a product and engineering culture focused on agility, data, and customer centricity.
  • Own the development of a modular, scalable enterprise IT architecture and tech stack that supports growth, resilience, and enables rapid product development that drives customer centric innovation across IONITY’s digital services and infrastructure.
    

• Platform & Product Innovation
  • Oversee the design and development of scalable digital services: smart routing, dynamic pricing, remote diagnostics, loyalty programs, and more.
  • Accelerate the rollout of software platforms that integrate seamlessly with OEMs, fleets, mobility services, and energy markets.
  • Pioneer the use of predictive analytics, AI/ML, and automation to enhance charger uptime, customer experience, and network optimization.
    

• Organizational & Talent Development
  • Inspire and lead a high-performing tech team - spanning engineering, software, IT, data, and product.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and shared ownership aligned with our core values of freedom, responsibility, and customer centricity.
  • Drive tech hiring, structure, and capability development to support scale and resilience.
    

• Collaboration & Influence
  • Partner with strategy, commercial, network and operations leaders to ensure technology enhances business performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent IONITY’s technical vision to our shareholders, OEMs, commercial partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead technology governance and architecture decisions to balance speed, reliability, and long-term scalability.

• A visionary tech leader with 10+ years in senior technology roles, ideally in fast-scaling digital, energy, or mobility environments.
• Proven track record in building and scaling platforms—cloud-native, modular, API-driven, and data-rich.
• Demonstrated ability to lead agile teams and apply lean principles to product and tech development.
• Deep technical fluency in backend architecture, system design, and modern software practices.
• Experienced in translating complex strategy into executable roadmaps across engineering and product domains.
• Comfortable leading in ambiguity and driving change in evolving, fast-paced markets.
• Strong communicator and collaborator—able to align diverse teams around a bold technology vision, who inspires teams and works collaboratively across business functions.
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in high-growth, fast-changing indsutry, willing to roll up your sleeves while inspiring teams to move with urgency, ownership, and creative problem-solving.
