The Video Coding Systems Research team at Nokia Technologies has a strong track record in developing and implementing compression algorithms and features for international standards.

More about the role: you will be part of a highly skilled multi-national team of experts in the field of video compression.Your responsibilities would comprise various tasks in development and testing of new video coding algorithms/system features/software for next generation video coding standards.

Position: Video Coding - Working Student

Duration: 6 months

Location: Munich, Germany (hybrid)

Education recommendation: Computer Science, Signal Processing or any other familiar major

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

Basic Responsibilities:

• Implement new features, conduct computer simulations and evaluate the experimental results.
• Study and develop new video coding algorithms for next generation video coding standards.
• Analyze contributions presented at JVET standardization meetings.
  
  

Key Skills And Experience

Qualifications for this role:

• Good knowledge of basic signal/image/video processing/compression
• Proficiency in software development in C, C++, Python.
• Knowledge of current video coding standards, such as AVC, HEVC, and VVC.
