Job Purpose/role

You will work in the Operational Risk Management team of Allianz Investment Management SE (AIM), being responsible for operational risk management including Digital Risk Management. The role involves supporting the investment management business (1st Line of Defense) with implementation and maintenance of the Non-Financial Risk Management framework across Allianz’ investment management function globally. You will maintain the internal risk and control frameworks, perform independent oversight activities and report to the Head of Operational Risk Management. The role requires a close interaction with all local and global AIM functions, Allianz Group Risk and a participation in strategic projects with close interaction to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a sound understanding of the investment management value chain with its key operational risk drivers and interdependencies to the insurance business as well as towards Allianz Group and other safeguarding/control functions at AIM SE.
• Build a sound understanding of the Operational Risk Management framework including Non-Financial Risk Management principles of the Allianz Group including Digital Risk Management.
• Assess and challenge the Risk and Control Assessment process including identification, assessment and mitigation of Non-Financial Risks as well as the definition of Key Risk Indicators for identified top risks.
• Execute a multi-year key control testing plan and perform ad-hoc reviews where required.
• Prepare compelling risk reports and visualizations that provide clear, actionable insights to drive informed decision-making across the organization.
• Oversee, challenge and report on actual and potential operational losses including performance of root cause analysis and definition of action plans.
• Coordination of AIM SE ISAE certification as well as related reporting.
• Promote a healthy risk culture through providing regular staff training and communications on key relevant topics
  
  

Key Requirements/skills/ Experience

• Experience with applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards and insurance and financial markets.
• A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Risk Management Professional or Certified Financial Analyst)
• 3+ years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance or a related field.
• Work experience or detailed knowledge in IT are beneficial
• Fluency in English, German language skills are helpful
