Today, we don’t have a robot that can fit a screw into a nut without slipping a thread. Imagine what it would take for a robot to assemble a Smartphone or a car by putting together 1000s of parts with varied shapes and weights, all in random orientations. Thus factories become complex, needing heavy customization of their environment.
CynLr enabled visual robots to intuitively handle any object, even from a clutter – a universal alternative to custom machines, simplifying factory lines into modular LEGO blocks of micro-factories. Simplifying factories with robots that can pick & place any object has been a 40-year-old pipe dream, touted as The Holy Grail of Robotics.
As a Solution Architect, you will be interfacing with customers to understand and translate their business goals into utility through the use of CynLr's platform. You will be designing a complete system by leveraging existing and developing new technologies pertaining to industrial automation, spanning but not limited to instrumentation, sensors, motion control, vision and user experience.
Requirements in Practice
- Understand the customer's application and their requirements to understand their business and translate them into a Solution Requirement Document (SRD)
- Conduct feasibility studies for customer applications, considering engineering, integration, ergonomics, unit economics, and process optimization.
- Design end-to-end solutions ensuring scalability, modularity, and serviceability, including factory layouts and automation workflows.
- Develop solution architectures for automation systems (e.g., cells or lines), breaking them into hardware, software, and functional blocks.
- Analyze and optimize production processes, anticipate challenges and constraints, and resolve bottlenecks using simulation to enhance cycle times, throughput, and efficiency.
- Address robotic automation challenges such as part presentation, part variability, path planning, precision, throughput, reliability, and safety compliance.
- Plan and organize project workflows, milestones, development, and testing cycles, incorporating process optimization and cycle time analysis.
- Create test and validation frameworks for design, integration, performance, and safety, leveraging factory simulation insights.
- Collaborate and lead solution and cross-functional support teams, presenting simulation outcomes to customers.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers throughout the project lifecycle, tailoring solutions to factory operations.
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and production goals.
Must have an Understanding of
- Designing and implementing end-to-end automation solutions (preferably robotics-based)
- Creating and designing scalable, modular, and industry-agnostic system architectures aimed at integration into customer production lines.
- PLCs, IPCs, sensors, IOs, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet).
- Programming languages and code structures (Python, C++, or similar)
- Manufacturing, Warehousing, or Assembly line processes, and challenges of tailoring solutions to specific industry needs
Good to Have Experiences:
- Articulating technical concepts, including factory simulation results, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Leading complex multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, simulation) to design and deliver solutions
- Familiarity with visualizing robotic work envelopes and motion constraints via simulation
