What do you contribute?
- As project and design lead engineer (m/f/d) you will take over project responsibility within engineering in the "System Integration" department ("Machine Room and Roofs"). In doing so, you will be responsible for the quality, cost and timely implementation of innovative and forward-looking technical solutions, while always keeping an eye on the locomotive system as a whole.
- You will coordinate the technical concepts of tomorrow with various interface partners, have the technical lead of cross-border project teams and ensure smooth cooperation across national borders.
- You will play a central role in the development of technical solutions for the department and actively participate in them yourself.
- You will create requirements specifications, plan the layout of the machine room and roofs, carry out technical clarifications and prepare and check assembly documents for machine room cabinets and installations.
- In addition, you will initiate patent applications for innovative solutions, but you will also fall back on proven technical standard concepts, taking into account the current process regulations, technical instructions and information as well as standards and laws.
- You will accompany the implementation of the technical solution in our plants, for example in Germany, the USA or India.
- You have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study.
- You have several years of relevant professional experience in the engineering and project environment of rail vehicle technology or in mechanical engineering in a comparable industry. In particular, knowledge of norms and standards in rail vehicle design is advantageous.
- You have experience in coordinating technical tasks as well as in the technical lead of project teams at various international locations. Experience in international cooperation is an advantage here.
- In-depth user knowledge in mechanical design, especially in the field of sheet metal bending and welded constructions as well as various joining techniques, is part of your wealth of experience to date.
- You are familiar in dealing with customers, authorities and suppliers and have relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the use of 3D CAD systems, ideally Creo Parametric, as well as PLM systems such as SAP and Teamcenter is required.
- Advanced English skills, German skills on level B2 or higher as well as your willingness to travel domestically and abroad round off your profile.
- We live the "new normal" – so it is a matter of course for us that you can do part of your work remotely.
