What do you contribute?

• As project and design lead engineer (m/f/d), you will take over project responsibility within Engineering in the "System Integration" department ("Underfloor"). In doing so, you will be responsible for the quality, cost and timely implementation of innovative and forward-looking technical solutions, while always keeping an eye on the locomotive system as a whole.
• You will coordinate technical concepts with various interface partners and take over the technical management of national and international project teams. In doing so, you will ensure smooth cooperation across national borders and coordinate closely with all trades (e.g. circuit technology, control technology, cable laying, shell construction), suppliers and component managers to ensure proper design and integration of assemblies in the respective projects.
• You will play a key role in the development of technical solutions for the business department, actively participate in the implementation and bring in-depth knowledge of the use of 3D CAD tools.
• You will prepare requirements specifications, plan the arrangement in the underfloor area, clarify technical details and prepare and check installation documents for underfloor installations.
• In addition, you will initiate patent applications for innovative solutions and use proven technical standard concepts. In doing so, you will always take into account the current process regulations, technical instructions, information as well as standards and laws.
• You will accompany the implementation of the technical solution in our plants, for example in Germany, the USA or India.
  
  

What do you bring along?

• You have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study.
• You have several years of relevant professional experience in the engineering and project environment of rail vehicle technology or in mechanical engineering in a comparable industry. In particular, knowledge of norms and standards in rail vehicle design is advantageous.
• You have experience in coordinating technical tasks as well as in the technical lead of project teams at various international locations. Experience in international cooperation is an advantage here.
• In-depth user knowledge in mechanical design, especially in the field of sheet metal bending and welded constructions as well as various joining techniques, is part of your wealth of experience to date.
• You are familiar in dealing with customers, authorities and suppliers and have relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the use of 3D CAD systems, ideally Creo Parametric, as well as PLM systems such as SAP and Teamcenter is required.
• Advanced English skills, German skills on level B2 or higher as well as your willingness to travel domestically and abroad round off your profile.
• We live the "new normal" – so it is a matter of course for us that you can do part of your work remotely.
